Celcom ( Malaysia) Berhad Protection of Consumer Information Policy (PCIP)

Celcom ( Malaysia) Berhad ("Celcom") is committed to providing the customer with the highest levels of customer service. This includes protecting the customers' privacy. Celcom is bound by the General Consumer Code of Practice for the Communications and Multimedia Industry Malaysia, and Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which sets out a number of principles concerning consumer protection.

This PCIP effectively represents the privacy policy mentioned in the Agreement between the customer and Celcom.

1. Usage and retention of customers' information.

1.1 Pursuant to the Agreement between the customer and Celcom, the customer thereby gives consent that Celcom may use and/or disclose his personal information for lawful purposes, including but not limited to: -

a. To Celcom's shareholders, related corporations and affiliated companies for purposes of providing any goods or services to the customer;

b. To Celcom's agents, contractors, business partners or associates for purposes of marketing programs or providing any goods or services to the customer;

c. To Celcom's agents or contractors for the purposes of recovering any amount due to Celcom;

d. To payment channels including and without limitation, financial institutions for purposes of maintaining financial records, assessing or verifying credit and facilitating payments of any amount due to Celcom pursuant to the Agreement;

e. To regulatory bodies or other government authorities in compliance with requirements under the law or towards the detection or prevention of crime and/or fraud;

f. To any party involved in or related to a legal proceeding, for purposes of the proceedings;

g. To other service providers or to parties nominated by Celcom either solely or jointly with other service providers, for purposes of establishing and maintaining a common database of customers; and/or;

h. To Celcom's professional advisors on a need to know basis.

1.2 Save in accordance with the Agreement and except as permitted or required under any enactment, law, statute or code, Celcom will not use or disclose the customers' personal information without prior written consent.

2. Accuracy of Information

2.1 Celcom strives to maintain complete, current, and accurate information about its customers. Any inaccurate information that is brought to Celcom's attention will be corrected as quickly as possible after notification. Procedures will be maintained to ensure that any reported inaccuracies are promptly and effectively handled and that customers' information remains as accurate, current and complete as possible.

2.2 Failure to provide complete and correct information to Celcom as required in the Agreement including the Registration Form or any Addendum, may result in the customer's application for services being rejected, the service or Agreement being terminated and/or correspondence from Celcom including without limitation, bill statements failing to reach the Customer.

3. Protection of Information via Established Security Procedures

3.1 Celcom is committed to maintain security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customers' information and will take all of the necessary precautions to ensure the safeguarding of the customers' information, whether it is stored electronically or in paper.

3.2 In all cases, information is retained in secured facilities, protected from unauthorized access and kept only as long as it is reasonably required. Celcom also updates and tests the technology to improve the protection of customers' information and protect the integrity of the information.
